This week, The Growlers take the stage to unleash their “beach goth” sound upon NightLife’s ears. Prepare yourself for a psychedelic circus of surf, sex, hobo trance, and boom boom twang. Based in Orange County, the band released their third album, Hung at Heart, in January. Opening band Houndmouth, whose debut album From the Hills Below the City just dropped in June, is fresh off the sets of Conan and The Late Show with David Letterman. Additional music by DJ Andy Cabic of Vetiver.
In between sets, play lawn games, American Tripps Berlin-style ping pong, and explore highlights from across Golden Gate Park collected under one roof for the night, including info and activities from the San Francisco Botanical Garden, Lindy in the Park, and AIDS Memorial Grove. In the planetarium, choose between two showings of Earthquake and two presentations of Music of the Spheres which explores the unheard music of planetary motion.
Music presented by Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival. Outside Lands tickets are not required to attend this NightLife event. Limited space in the East Garden where the bands play so please arrive early.
