Origin & Liminality: Intro to Experimental Writing

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at LIMINAL (see times)
This workshop explores fiction as an experiential reproduction of truth. Origin is both the complex reasons and histories we bring to our writing and the techniques we employ to orient our readers at the start of the stories we tell. LIMINAL literally means threshold and is the in-between space. We will turn the personal origin, in all of its complexities, into experiential, experimental fiction through the exploration of liminal spaces.
~Focus on creating new writing ~ Open to all levels ~
Come with a project or to embark on something new!
Reading Excerpts include: Carole Maso, Toni Morrison, Clarice Lispector, Sandra Cisneros and Arundhati Roy.

Gina Goldblatt is the Founder of LIMINAL: A Feminist & Womanist Writing Space in Oakland. She has 6+ years of teaching experience from teaching Creative Writing to second and third graders in San Mateo, Essay Writing, Study Skills and Life Skills to the Cal Football Team, and Middle School English at an Orthadox Jewish School. Her chapbook entitled “All Small Carcasses,” is out from The Gorilla Press. She is also an aerial performer.
