Orgy has a long history of aggressive and dark yet pop-tinged heavy rock. Orgy, who formed out of the Los Angeles music scene in the early 90s, weaves an array of musical backgorunds into a heady blend of metal, alternative, synth rock, and industrial. The band only released three full lengths before, for all intents and purposes, splitting; but Orgy is now back big time with original member Jay Gordon leading a new lineup on tour and into the spotlight. Way back in 1998 (that's a mind boggling 17 years ago) Orgy released a cover of "Blue Monday" by New Order -- and that song was the soundtrack to many middle school goth kid hangouts. It also put Orgy squarely on the map of modern rock radio, made them a good amount of money, and probably didn't help stem their eventual inner band friction and hiatus. Money changes everything, as Cyndi Lauper wisely proclaimed. Creative differences, hella side projects (including one with Linkin Park's Chester Bennington), and the passing of time don't help either. But after a few years of silence, Jay has picked up the reigns once again to kickstart Orgy. The revitalized band, which was handpicked by Jay, has embarked on a few tours and recorded some new material in order to give fans what they want: Orgy's signature death pop. Get ready relive your youth, swim in a sea of black, and take in some gothed out industrial metal when Orgy hits the stage.
