Opel Productions has captured a unique slice of the SF nightlife with it's friendly cross appeal between clubbers, Burners and hipsters. Opel is the brain child of Syd Gris, the founder of the legendary Opulent Temple camp at Burning Man, a key producer of San Francisco LovEvolution (formerly Love Parade / LoveFest), one of the city's top DJ's, and a local child psychologist.

Expect a welcoming funky vibe with cutting edge dance music from one of the hottest producers in the electro / fidget house music scene coming in from the UK for this special occasion: Calverton. (Bio below). Last time Calverton was here he played to a sold out Opel show and tore the roof off. He's expected to do the same, alongside local favorites.

Calvertron Bio:
(Twocker, Ministry Of Sound, Trouble & Bass, BugEyed, Household Management, http://www.myspace.com/calvertronica) -- United Kingdom

Following a string of speaker rattling productions and highly acclaimed remixes, Alex Calver aka Calvertron has found himself the subject of attention of some of the most credible artists and record labels in the business. His tracks are consistently featured on the UK’s national radio stations and are spreading like a pandemic into the sets of the world’s most influential DJ’s. Formerly the producer/engineer behind one of the UK's most groundbreaking music duo's 'Twocker’, Alex’s versatility knows no bounds, from bass driven house music and Jacking/Electro, to Minimal Techno and Tech House (sometimes under his ‘Kalva’ guise). Alex has become one of the leaders on the global scene and has already had the honour of remixing such legends as Laidback Luke, Armand Van Helden and Sander Kleinenberg. Alex's work can be found on many of the UK’s super labels like Cr2, Ministry of Sound, Toolroom and Champion records as well as an array of global imprints including Trouble & Bass, Potty Mouth Music, Vacation and Bugeyed, not to mention the rising success of his own label ‘Jack Knife Records’. Also an accomplished DJ, Calvertron sets are just like the tracks he makes, impossible to pigeonhole with all the excitement of a frog in a blender. His sets are in high demand and he regularly headlines clubs all over the UK, highlights include Ministry of Sound, Turnmills and The Que Club. He's toured every continent bar Antarctica but if there was a club down there he'd be partying with the penguins!

Syd Gris Bio:

He's been called a Renaissance man of the West Coast scene, and with good reason. The man behind Opel Productions, one of the West Coasts biggest promoters, the co-founder of the legendary Opulent Temple camp, one of the all-time premier sound stages at Burning Man, Board Member and key producer of the San Francisco LovEvolution event (formerly known as LoveFest & Love Parade), as well as a psychologist, activist and of course a DJ. On the DJ tip, Syd is one of the West Coast's top talents, consistently being voted in the Top 10 San Francisco Dream Team poll, and playing the biggest events in California party land. Playing a versatile range of electro house and breaks, to progressive and tech-trance, he's been personally tapped to open and close for the varied likes of Tiesto, Moby, Stanton Warriors, Paul Oakenfold, Underworld, Armin Van Burren, Adam Freeland, Meat Katie, Elite Force, and the list goes on.

His debut single, out last year, 'Who Are You?' cracked the crowded Beatport Top 30 electro chart. Syd knows what to do in any situation to bring the universal vibe of dance music. His sets are known for walking the fine line between the gritty and the pretty, and he has a range seen.
