One-Stop Enrollment for Foothill College New Students

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The calendar says spring, but Foothill College is encouraging new students, especially graduating high school seniors, to get on the fast track now for priority fall registration. To receive priority fall registration, new students can participate in a convenient one-stop enrollment workshop in May. During the three-hour workshop, you will:
• Submit the admission application (there is no fee to apply);
• Participate in an orientation;
• Complete assessment tests for English, math and chemistry;
• Create a temporary, short-form education plan that will qualify you for fall priority enrollment;
• Schedule a counseling appointment to complete the required comprehensive education plan; and
• Register for the one-unit CNSL 5: Introduction to College course that will complete before July 15.

The free workshop will be presented two Saturdays, May 3 and 10, from 9 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 4 p.m. To choose the date and time that work best for your schedule, access https://www.foothill.edu/onestop. You need only attend one three-hour workshop.

Plan Now, Get Priority Later
Beginning this fall, new state laws will give priority registration to students who complete an orientation and assessment, work with a counselor to develop an education plan, succeed in their classes and make progress toward completing their academic goals.

“To help new students receive priority registration, Foothill College is presenting one-stop enrollment workshops this spring so that you can complete required assessment, orientation and education plan development well before Fall Quarter gets under way in September,” says Foothill College Vice President of Student Services Denise Swett, Ed.D. “The thoughtful planning you do now will ensure that your Foothill experience is streamlined and successful.”

In order to register for subsequent quarters, the new laws will require all California community college students to file an individual education plan, maintain academic good standing and demonstrate progress toward completion of their academic goals. For more priority registration information, access https://www.foothill.edu.
