ABOUT ONE MARKET'S "SWISS FAMILY DOMMEN" POP-UP
On November 2nd, celebrate the rich traditional cuisine of Switzerland! Both Chef Dommen and Pastry Chef Dellamonica--Bauler take inspiration from generations of Swiss family, the early adopters of the back-to-land movement and farm-to-table fare. Chef Dommen’s mother Maria traveled from Austria to Switzerland to work as a server, meeting and marrying his father Willy. In the 1950s they immigrated to the United States to forge their own path, but it was Maria, revered as a “world-class baker,” who taught Chef Dommen to make traditional fondue.
Pastry Chef Dellamonica-Bauler’s grandparents immigrated to the U.S. from Claro, Switzerland shortly after the birth of Patti's father. It was there that Chef Dellamonica-Bauler spent time in family kitchens preparing cheeses, pastas, charcuterie, while watching her talented mother, Kay, make candy.
At this special pop-up, they’ll blend their Swiss Family Menu for a night of spirited culinary adventure and conversation.
