On Air: A live reading of landmark, gust, and Daly City Artists Drawing Club with Jerome Reyes

Artist Jerome Reyes’ project an incomplete caption is composed of a set of audio tapes that include fragments of interviews with Bay Area natives expounding on notions of migration, time and landscape. These testimonies are interwoven with field recordings, sounds from pertinent locations around the Bay Area. This event, On Air: A live reading of landmark, gust, and Daly City, consists of a live conversation organized by the artist featuring photographer/educator Jeremy Villaluz and Dawn Mabalon, associate professor of history at San Francisco State University. The recording of this conversation will be the last archival audio tape. Once the conversation is recorded, the project is complete.
About the Artist
Jerome Reyes, who lives and works in Seoul and San Francisco, is an artist-researcher who addresses conceptual territories of architecture and alterity. He has an M.F.A. from Stanford University and has made projects for the Prospect.3 Biennial, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. He's been awarded residencies at National Museum for Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea; Gwangju Biennale Foundation; Asia Culture Center; and Seoul Museum of Art. He has received awards from the Joan Mitchell Foundation (M.F.A. grant), Art Matters Foundation and the Center for Cultural Innovation. He is artist liaison at Stanford University’s Institute for Diversity in the Arts and 2016 Artist-in-Residence at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
