With the introduction of “Fresh Off the Boat” to primetime programming on network television and other notable strides in media, Asian Americans are increasing their representation in mainstream media, with Asian American writers, actors, and artists taking control of their storytelling and representations of their communities. This event will focus on what this means for the community - the progress that has been made, the stories we choose to tell, and the work that is still left to do. Performances by Jason Bayani and Dhaya Lakshminarayanan, music by Matt Wong and a conversation with award-winning author and scholar Jeff Chang.
This is a FREE KQED event, but you will need to RSVP:
