Good people of Odyssey:
I hope y'all are ready for a big one... because we are serving it up BIG on Saturday, Aug 31st in the LOFT for all the babes who cannot make it out to burning man, but still would like to dance and feel completely free with all their friends.
SF has a lot to offer. So much talent, personality, enthusiasm, and community -- right under the surface. Instead of doing a rotation with 2 guest DJs, we will be showcasing some of SFs finest underground talent, with four DJs getting an hour each to perform. Those chosen for this night are not only workhorses, performing and making music constantly, but are also insanely cool, down to Earth people, who are approachable, awesome, and all about what they do. Schedules and DJ info are listed below.

Fewer SF DJs are busier than David Harness. He is perhaps most famous for his legendary stint at Club Universe, whose fans remain devoted and can be found on nearly every dancefloor he plays in SF to this day. You can catch him making waves in SF right now at Mighty’s event Mighty Real, in which he has hosted and opened for artists such as Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega, Dimitri From Paris and Jellybean Benitez, among others. He is the long-running resident DJ at Fag Fridays, a monthly dose of amazingness featuring guests such as Tedd Patterson and Quentin Harris, which is currently located at the DNA lounge but has been in the bay area for many years. Last but not least, he runs a GORGEOUS night called Taboo, which recently celebrated it’s fourteenth anniversary (!!) at Bench and Bar in Oakland. As a producer, he is always doing things, whether he is working in the context of his own label Harlum Muziq, with partner Chris Lum, or on Moulton Media.
David is the real deal. With love for house music, soul music, and most of all community, he is ALWAYS a welcomed and treasured guest at Odyssey.

Are you ready to entery the MATRiXX? There are some who never left. Caught midway in between the warped digital cyberscape of the human psyche and the world of analog “humanity” we all participate in, Matrixxman aka Charles McCloud seems to excel in every space and format.
Whether he’s DJing hip hop at el Rio for Swagger like us, jammin house tunes at Honey (for that matter, at Westgay or 11:11 in NYC), opening for Cajmere at Mighty, laying down fierce hip hop beats for leif, or producing jaw-dropping balearic remixes of Sade on vinyl (not to mention his own stellar production work) he’s always killin’ it -- with music, energy and vibes for days. Matrixxman is blowin’ up right now and we are really proud to have an hour of his awesomeness for this month’s Odyssey. If you don’t believe me just peep some links :)

He plays 1st, 2nd and 3rd Fridays at the powerhouse, and sundays at the Lookout, not to mention an always-busy DJ calendar including spots at places such as Monarch, Beatbox, Public Works, Q bar and more. He has fierce taste in newer music, deep selections for classic records, and always comes with amazing energy and fashions. We couldn’t be prouder to include Guy again in our Odyssey festivities and we know he will throw down hard for you like always.

Hopefully you know Robert Jeffrey by now? He is an Odyssey All Star, and this will be his fifth Odyssey appearance (Jan 27, 2012 - April 27 2012 - Oct 19 2012 - July 27 2012). He has played Odyssey alongside Steve Littlemen (The Littlemen, UK) and Sunshine Jones, as well as our 1-year anniversary party in the main room of Public Works last October. He has a busy DJ schedule always, starting with his regular gigs: Viennetta Discotheque on mondays at Underground SF, and Ms White, a Sunday affair at Monarch, and including appearance for Bearracuda, Daytime Realness, HYSL, Fag Fridays and more. His creative selections, over-the-top amazing energy, and personal relationships with dancers and fans make him a MUST and we are proud to include him in this year’s local showcase night.

Cohost, founder, and resident DJ for Odyssey. Total nutjob who regularly DJs 4-5 hour sets at the powerhouse, in addition to local gigs which range from The Stud, Qbar and Underground SF to Monarch, the End Up and the Factory on Harrison. Robin is a longtime house DJ (15 years +) and his broad love of Music (with a capital M) cannot be silenced, meaning that he will always be playing whatever is on his mind and heart. Lucky enough to make a name by running his own private party space for 1.5 years (or 36 events), he is grateful to have opportunities to play this year at Juanita’s pride party, in NYC for Eli Escobar, at Afterglow for Pride, and at special events for Dore Alley and Folsom fair.

Donovan Drummond is one of the longest running and most cherished lightshow artists in the history of dance music (and especially extra-legal dance music events), doing the visuals for legendary parties such as Wicked, The Gathering, and tons more, including nightclubs like Townsend, and more recently Monarch, Public Works and at Mighty for AYLI & No Way Back present Metro Area.
He's a creative force of nature, and a master of color, light and mood. He has been my in-house lightshow wizard for dozens of parties, and I couldn't be luckier to have him.

Cabure Bonugli aka Shot in the City is one of SF’s busiest photographers, doing regular gigs at El Rio, Public Works, The Stud and more, with events such as Go Bang!, Hard French, Swagger Like Us, Stay Gold, Fix Yr Hair, and so many more! It’s hard to believe he hosts his own party on Sundays at the Cinch, and makes time to do private commission work as well.
He’s a powerhouse. He’s full of energy and love, and he makes every shot special, always pushing the boundaries with new techniques, equipment and ideas.

Robin is a longtime house DJ (15 years +) and his broad love of Music (with a capital M) cannot be silenced, meaning that he will always be playing whatever is on his mind and heart. Lucky enough to make a name by running his own private party space for 1.5 years (or 36 events), he is grateful to have opportunities to play this year at Juanita’s pride party, in NYC for Eli Escobar, at Afterglow for Pride, and at special events for Dore Alley and Folsom fair.

Donovan Drummond is one of the longest running and most cherished lightshow artists in the history of dance music (and especially extra-legal dance music events), doing the visuals for legendary parties such as Wicked, The Gathering, and tons more, including nightclubs like Townsend, and more recently Monarch, Public Works and at Mighty for AYLI & No Way Back present Metro Area.
He's a creative force of nature, and a master of color, light and mood. He has been my in-house lightshow wizard for dozens of parties, and I couldn't be luckier to have him.

Cabure Bonugli aka Shot in the City is one of SF’s busiest photographers, doing regular gigs at El Rio, Public Works, The Stud and more, with events such as Go Bang!, Hard French, Swagger Like Us, Stay Gold, Fix Yr Hair, and so many more! It’s hard to believe he hosts his own party on Sundays at the Cinch, and makes time to do private commission work as well.
He’s a powerhouse. He’s full of energy and love, and he makes every shot special, always pushing the boundaries with new techniques, equipment and ideas.

Good people of Odyssey:
I hope y'all are ready for a big one... because we are serving it up BIG on Saturday, Aug 31st in the LOFT for all the babes who cannot make it out to burning man, but still would like to dance and feel completely free with all their friends.
SF has a lot to offer. So much talent, personality, enthusiasm, and community -- right under the surface. Instead of doing a rotation with 2 guest DJs, we will be showcasing some of SFs finest underground talent, with four DJs getting an hour each to perform. Those chosen for this night are not only workhorses, performing and making music constantly, but are also insanely cool, down to Earth people, who are approachable, awesome, and all about what they do. Fewer SF DJs are busier than David Harness. He is perhaps most famous for his legendary stint at Club Universe, whose fans remain devoted and can be found on nearly every dancefloor he plays in SF to this day. You can catch him making waves in SF right now at Mighty’s event Mighty Real, in which he has hosted and opened for artists such as Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega, Dimitri From Paris and Jellybean Benitez, among others. He is the long-running resident DJ at Fag Fridays, a monthly dose of amazingness featuring guests such as Tedd Patterson and Quentin Harris, which is currently located at the DNA lounge but has been in the bay area for many years. Last but not least, he runs a GORGEOUS night called Taboo, which recently celebrated it’s fourteenth anniversary (!!) at Bench and Bar in Oakland. As a producer, he is always doing things, whether he is working in the context of his own label Harlum Muziq, with partner Chris Lum, or on Moulton Media.
David is the real deal. With love for house music, soul music, and most of all community, he is ALWAYS a welcomed and treasured guest at Odyssey.

Are you ready to entery the MATRiXX? There are some who never left. Caught midway in between the warped digital cyberscape of the human psyche and the world of analog “humanity” we all participate in, Matrixxman aka Charles McCloud seems to excel in every space and format.
Whether he’s DJing hip hop at el Rio for Swagger like us, jammin house tunes at Honey (for that matter, at Westgay or 11:11 in NYC), opening for Cajmere at Mighty, laying down fierce hip hop beats for leif, or producing jaw-dropping balearic remixes of Sade on vinyl (not to mention his own stellar production work) he’s always killin’ it -- with music, energy and vibes for days. Guy Ruben is one of the best and hardest working local DJs around. He plays 1st, 2nd and 3rd Fridays at the powerhouse, and sundays at the Lookout, not to mention an always-busy DJ calendar including spots at places such as Monarch, Beatbox, Public Works, Q bar and more. He has fierce taste in newer music, deep selections for classic records, and always comes with amazing energy and fashions. We couldn’t be prouder to include Guy again in our Odyssey festivities and we know he will throw down hard for you like always.

Hopefully you know Robert Jeffrey by now? He is an Odyssey All Star, and this will be his fifth Odyssey appearance (Jan 27, 2012 - April 27 2012 - Oct 19 2012 - July 27 2012). He has played Odyssey alongside Steve Littlemen (The Littlemen, UK) and Sunshine Jones, as well as our 1-year anniversary party in the main room of Public Works last October. He has a busy DJ schedule always, starting with his regular gigs: Viennetta Discotheque on mondays at Underground SF, and Ms White, a Sunday affair at Monarch, and including appearance for Bearracuda, Daytime Realness, HYSL, Fag Fridays and more. His creative selections, over-the-top amazing energy, and personal relationships with dancers and fans make him a MUST and we are proud to include him in this year’s local showcase night.
