I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, an Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist and a Reflective Practice Facilitator/Mentor. My work focuses on “nurturing relationships”.
I specialize in working with children birth through age 8 and their families. I have experience in working with children who have been exposed to violence, trauma and extreme stress. I have worked extensively with needs related to parent-child relationship support, post-partum depression, parental mental health issues, adoption, separation, divorce, blended families, developmental delays, learning differences, children with special needs and child behavior issues.
Inherent in my approach is a relational and strengths-based framework that focuses on collaboration and partnership. This means I partner with families to address areas of need. My approach draws from developmental and attachment theory, psychoanalysis, humanistic and cognitive behavior therapy. I don’t believe that “one” therapy is best. I think the therapy should fit the person. Therefore I draw from a variety of theories and approaches to take an integrative approach to healing and emotional wellness.
