Northern Strangers formed in 2010, out of a collective love for classic psychedelic rock music from the likes of The Doors, Talking Heads, David Bowie, The Beatles and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. The members’ varied musical backgrounds, ranging from classical to jazz to reggae to folk, provide a distinct flavor of psychedelic fun. Northern Strangers have built a reputation for playing energetically charged sets throughout Los Angeles, including The Viper Room and The Roxy, as well as local Oktoberfests, wineries and street fairs. The band tours regularly and has headlined Black Mountain Family Reunion Music And Arts Festival in Guffey, CO for the past 2 years. In 2013 Northern Strangers independently released their debut album MONSTERS! -A folk rock concept piece called “smooth, energetic, romantic, fun, and thought provoking”
