Neon Indian
The brainchild of Alan Palomo, who's 2009 debut record Psychic Chasms not only earned the 20 year-old a spot on numerous year-end lists, but assisted the forming of a genre that, though known by a few names now (chillwave, hypnagogic pop, glo-fi,), summoned a very unique and specific electro-mangled sound. Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and SPIN all praised Neon Indian for his adventurous new sound, and he was tapped to perform at top festivals like Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Sasquatch.

Poolside (Dj Set)
The L.A.-by-way-of-Denmark-and-San Francisco duo of Filip Nikolic and Jeffrey Paradise make music called "daytime disco," meaning they use many of discos well-known tropes like funky basslines, four-on-the-floor rhythms, Latin percussion, and glittery choruses, but it's a more relaxed and peaceful sound they produce.

Their Dj sets are well known for entrancing crowds with these laid-back disco grooves. Expect tons of bubbling synths, interlocking guitars, and dusty percussion fills; then mix them all together into a tropical cocktail that will knock you into a coma after your first few sips.

Musically they can take you on a journey where Steely Dan is remixed by Larry Levan; Donna Summer is drunk on cough syrup, and Neil Young's "Harvest Moon" is gently plucked from the country and gets you slow dancing to a beautiful end-of-the-night jam. Throughout the night this duo can also turn up the heat, with pumping basslines, spunky - midtempo electric boogie, and songs that sounds something like the Eagles jamming with Chic.

Papa Lu
Born and raised in the Bay, Papa Lu's first passion was Hip Hop and as soon as he graduated from High School he dove right into the business of throwing Hip Hop shows at DNA Lounge, working with legendary artists of the true school era like Digable Planets, Digital Underground, Gang Starr, Kool Keith, QBert, and many more. During that time several house music pioneers like Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Dj Sneak, Heather, Colette, etc were making their waves at that same venue and that’s where Papa Lu had learned to love house music. Becoming a house music aficionado Papa Lu transitioned into producing quality house music events. Night Moves at Monarch brings top artists like Danny Daze, Jimmy Edgar, Dennis Ferrer, Lazaro Casanova, Claptone, Juan MacLean, Crazy P, Moon Boots, John Tejada, etc In the process of curating these events Papa Lu cultivated himself as a quality dj opening and closing for the artists named above and is now a commonly known dj in SF's house scene.
