Description
Nefasha Ayer, loosely translated from Amharic as the wind that travels, joins melodies, rhythms, and poetic texts from the continents of Africa, South Asia, and the Americas. Through this interweaving, the ensemble explores the intangible quality of living in a world where borders have given way, where identity is fluid and moving, no longer framed by nation or tradition, but born in the space between the many.

Thursday Lunchtime Concert Series
Grab a sandwich and a summertime drink and meet friends and colleagues for a mid-day interlude of the finest jazz, world, and classical music under the open skies.

The 2009 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, which takes place from May 2 through October 31, features over 100 free events including music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, family festivals and children’s programs with artists from Cuba, Bali, Brazil, Israel, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Spain, Sweden, and other lands.
