The Right Time

If there is a band playing today that truly embodies the diversity of the Bay Area's sound and style, it is The Right Time. They Play everything, from 1950's Rock 'n' Roll to Rocksteady Reggae and Ska....Columbian Cumbia to Hard Funk and Soul. Some say a band really needs a niche to "make it". While there is some truth in this, these guys are doing it with a wildly diverse live show, a stacked lineup of killer Bay Area players from multiple genres, and a ton of love for the game. Formally know by there long-hand name FenTon CooLfooT anf The Right Time, the band is now being booked up all over Northern California as just The Right Time. Original songwriting and grooves are inspired by the tales of growing up here in the Bay and of things like pretty girls, shoes, cars, and geetars live. Their brand new self-titled debut album will be the showcase, and a variety of original, handmade-by-the-band merchandise available as well.

Featuring members of The Shams, The Bad Jones, Jordan and The Ritual, El Radio Fantastique, Albino!, Katdelic and more as the lineup occasionally rotates, The Right Time has recently shared the bill with some killer bands in the likes of Ozomatli, Orgone, Romain Virgo, Protoje, Monophonics, Vinyl, Marc Ford (Black Crows), House Of Whales, The Shams, The Bad Jones, Black Slate, and many more. Bring a date and dancing shoes, If The Right Time is in your neighborhood this is where the party is most definitely at. See you at the show!

KZ and The Robbers

New York, 2010 – The dark depths of winter and KZ plugs his guitar into an amp. He hammers out some chords, calls it “I Wanna Make You Cry” and with a few telephone calls KZ and The Robbers is born. Melding the energy and balls of a Creedence Revival with the gravity and earnestness of a Howlin Wolf, the boys carve out a sound and a place for themselves between Brooklyn and San Francisco.

San Francisco, present – After 3 years living, recording and performing in musical bootcamp, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, KZ returns to the motherland with a new bag of tricks. A new swing, a new vibe, a new attack—think Jorge Ben or Djavan played with the howling intensity of U.S. electric guitar. The Robbers is reformed with a bunch of California Savages and Michigan G.O.B.’s (Good Ole Boys) and takes on a new dimension, positioning itself uniquely between North and South, pop and noise, anger and tenderness.

Today KZ and the Robbers are in the studio recording their third album and rocking Bay Area and California stages. Look for new material in the first semester of 2016 and a steady diet of passionate live performances.
