Neck of the Woods Presents: LUNGS AND LIMBS, Fritz Montana, EagleWolfSnake

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Lungs and Limbs are an alt pop band from the San Francisco Bay Area. Known for their thick, hip-hop-and-80's-inspired beats, cowboy guitar licks and hook-laden vocals, the quartet's debut EP Lifelike (2015), written and recorded in a horse stable, garnered positive press from critics in the Bay Area, Boston, LA, Germany and beyond. Do the Bay describes Lungs and Limbs as "...a tight, clean sound that is refreshing to hear in a sea of lo-fi garage rock that seems to sometimes dominate the local music scene in SF." On June 17 Lungs and Limbs will debut Less Ordinary, the first single from their upcoming follow-up EP, Big Bang, with a release party at Neck of the Woods in San Francisco.

Fritz Montana

Growing up as products of the Bay Area’s suburbs, three ambitious and passionate young men met on a whim and haven’t looked back since. With their minds set on proving that rock and roll isn’t dead, Fritz Montana burst onto the local music scene, securing a spot to open for Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend, Queens of the Stone Age, AFI, Arctic Monkeys, and Capital Cities. This success quickly led to playing with other renowned artists, including Glass Animals, Royal Blood, The Strypes, and Little Hurricane, as well as garnering rave reviews on their two albums. Staying true to their roots, these men have dedicated their lives to the betterment of American music and the creation of heart-melting soulful jams.

"EagleWolfSnake is one of the tightest, fullest sounding trios I’ve heard in quite awhile. Just listen to their debut EP for evidence: layered vocals that make choruses arena-ready, chiming guitar lines that effortlessly float through the driving beats, deceptively simple song structures featuring big melodic hooks and an explicit desire to get your feet moving. You can reference everyone from the Speaking In Tongues incarnation of the Talking Heads to any era of Franz Ferdinand (because, let’s face it, those guys never really did change up their sound, did they?), but for brevity’s sake, it’s better just to classify the band as danceable rock/pop ear candy. “Empty Weather” is especially catchy and so concisely constructed you’ll wish it was longer than just two-and-a-half minutes." - The Bay Bridged
