Join La Cocina next Wednesday for their new, twice-a-year event series, “F&B: Voices from the Kitchen,” at the Swedish American Hall. The event is meant to be a platform for stories from chefs, writers, musicians, artists and others who, along with La Cocina, aim to create a platform for the voices less often heard in our food industry.
To kick-off the evening, during the cocktail hour, chefs Thomas McNaughton and Ryan Pollnow of Ne Timeas Restaurant Group will be cooking up their take on tacos alongside Chef Alex Stupak of Empellón Cocina and Chef Veronica Salazar of El Huarache Loco for the blind taste test complemented by cocktails from The Bon Vivants, such as the Martinez with Anchor Old Tom Gin, Alessio Vernouth Di Torino, Luxardo Maraschino and the Pisco Punch with Barsol pisco, pineapple gomme, lemon.
The theme of evening’s stories are centered around authenticity, and include talks from Nikki Silva of The Kitchen Sisters, Chef Alex Stupak of Empellón Cocina in New York City, and San Francisco-based food and travel writer Rachel Levin among many others. See the full line-up of storytellers here: voicesfromthekitchen.org/storytellers.
