Description

Presented in association with YBCA.

San Francisco Cinematheque opens its annual CROSSROADS film festival with a special screening with Bay Area master filmmaker Nathaniel Dorsky‘s new quartet of films, including two world premieres and a Bay Area premiere, all created in 2013–2014. Spring (Bay Area premiere): “a film that in itself is a garden, a film that, like the world of plants, yearns and stretches in the oncoming light, photographed during the months following the winter solstice.” Summer (world premiere): “a cinematic response to that world of our being” filmed in that dry and rainless season. December (world premiere): “photographed during this often turbulent month and edited soon after. It has a purity of form which I find quite rewarding.” Also screening is Song (premiered May 2013 at SFMOMA), the first film of Dorsky’s newest quartet. (All quotations by Nathaniel Dorsky)
