PLUS a special performance by the FOSSETTES!

Bay Area Choreographer and performer Pearl Marill invited her mother, Linda Posner, a former Broadway and Bob Fosse dancer, whose stage name is Leland Palmer, to an informal interview and audience Q&A to benefit Pearl's dance company, Modern on Command. Pearl and others, including local actor and performance artist Jef Valentine, will get Ms. Posner talking about her experiences dancing with Fosse, Michael Bennett and Martha Graham, her struggles with the brutal pressure of show business and her favorite roles. In the Fosse film, All That Jazz, Linda plays Gwen Verdon, Fosse's wife.

Pearl Marill and her dance company, Modern on Command will perform excerpts from Some Bodies Confessional at Footloose's Bitch and Tell: a real funny variety show at The Garage, Friday, October 17, 2014 at 8pm. The piece premiered at ODC Theater as part of the Music Moves Festival. The dancers collect anonymous audience confessions and thread them into their hilarious dance theater incorporating improvisation with choreography and fantastic large costumes. Pearl has shown work at ODC Theater, The Garage, Women on the Way Festival, StageDor, Traveling Jewish Theater, CounterPULSE and WestWave Festival. A runner up in the acclaimed AWARD show at ODC in January, 2012, Pearl was awarded a grant to create new work-- a short dance film called Crunch Pop--which won a cash prize on ABC Family's Dancing Fools. She received an Isadora Duncan Dance Award in 2013 for Best Ensemble for Missed Connections and an "Inspirational Dance Award " from BayAreaDanceWatch. http://www.modernoncommand.com/
