Movies that Matter, sponsored by The Harmony Center of Oakland, Calif., will feature The Motorcycle Diaries on Friday, April 6, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. Admission free.
The showing of the movie, at 7:00 p.m. sharp, will be followed by complimentary dessert and informal-but-lively discussion about the spiritual aspects of the film.
This film tells the true story of a 23 year-old medical student from Argentina, Che Guevara (played by Gael Garcia Bernal), who motorcycled across South America with his friend Alberto Granado (Rodrigo de la Serna) in 1951-52. The trek became a personal odyssey that ultimately crystallized the young man's budding revolutionary beliefs. Rated R for language.
