This unique band consists of vocalist Mihoco Kamimura and tenor-bassist JIGEN. In 1996, they met each other by chance in Sri Lanka and formed Momonashi in 1998. “Momonashi” means peach (momo) and pear (nashi).
After the 2011 earthquake and tsunami that destroyed parts of Japan, Momonashi played 100 free shows for those who lost everything and donated nearly 7,000 t-shirts to those in need.
They celebrated their 16th anniversary on July 21, 2014, and their fifth album, Luxury Time, was released on the same date. They continue creating and performing their music with enthusiasm. Catch them as they bring their message and music to the United States.
