Mindfulness to Increase Focus and Release Stress

In the competitive ecosystem of startups where the motto is “Grow fast or Die Slow” – If you are internally centered you can tap into great reserves of creative energy, focus and resilience even in the face of massive challenges.

If you are not rooted on a firm ground your inner stability and personal life will get swallowed and stress will become a very real issue. It will cause a huge counter productive toll on all aspects of life and work.

Research shows that if left unmanaged, ‘stress’ can lead to emotional, psychological, and even grave physical problems, including heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.

In this workshop, we will explore the question, "How can I be highly productive and yet move through the day with a feeling of ease and inner restfulness instead of anxiety or discontent."


We will cover:
1) Understanding the biology of how stress works in the mind-body and how we tend to store it inside our body sometimes for years leading to serious health issues. How to release this stress out of the body before it accumulates.

2) Understanding what is 'Mindfulness Meditation'. Guided Meditation Sitting Practice.

3) Overview of the Neuroscience of Mindfulness and its deep connection with neuroplasticity and habit patterns in the brain, based on recent studies at Stanford, Harvard, University of Wisconsin and UCLA.

4) Understanding 'Self-Compassion', 'Founder Depression' as well as 'Emotional Reactivity' when overwhelmed with stress and the pace of start-ups.

5) This interactive workshop is secular and has no affiliation with any religion, organization or institution. Mindfulness has scientific support as a means to reduce stress, improve focus, boost the immune system, reduce emotional reactivity, and promote a general sense of health and well-being.



Instructor Bio:
Nirali Shah teaches secular Mindfulness Meditation practices with an emphasis on mind-body awareness and self-inquiry She has spent thousands of hours meditating in silent retreats in monasteries, meditation centers, cells and caves. She is a certified mindfulness facilitator from UCLA's Mindful Awareness Research Center, a part of the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior.

She currently teaches this workshop at technology companies around the world. She is also a teacher at Insight Meditation Center in Redwood City, California as well as facilitates retreats with Spirit Rock and Inward Bound Mindfulness Education.

Nirali works at the crossroads of technology and meditation. She is a warm-hearted designer who is dangerously wired into the chops of Growth Hacking and Conversion Rate Optimization. No stranger to the startup game, in the last twelve years, she has created multi-channel campaigns and managed millions of dollars in Media and Communication budgets, profitably reaching target segments and exceeding conversion goals.
