Mindful eating involves bringing our full attention to the experience of nourishing ourselves while eating, drinking, and sharing food. We utilize all our senses to explore colors, smells, textures, temperatures, and flavors. Through practicing eating, sitting, and walking meditation, we begin to have a clear comprehension of where in the body we feel hunger; where do we feel satisfaction; and how to identify what is the feeling of fullness. Practicing mindfulness has the benefits of reducing our stress levels, increasing our happiness, and allowing us to be fully present with the people we love. This retreat is being led by Venerable Jampa Sangmo, who is a Tibetan Buddhist Nun and has studied with numerous Buddhist Masters in more than one tradition. Please bring water and a bag lunch or snack to the retreat.
