Internationally-acclaimed saxophonist/composer Michael Zilber, hailed by NEA Jazz Master Dave Liebman as “one of the best players and composers around anywhere: Period!” is joined by an all-star Bay Area trio of Peter Horvath on piano, Dan Feiszli on bass and Jeff Marrs on drums. The youth showcase will be the JazzSchool Advanced Jazz Workshop. This award-winning group is the Berkeley Jazzschool’s top high school performing group, and has been the recipient for the past 11 years of the national Downbeat Award as best performing arts student high school group in the country. It is made up of students from the various Bay Area counties by audition.
