Chapel of the Chimes Hayward, the final resting home to thousands of U.S. veterans, will host a Memorial Day service featuring performances by local veterans and live music by the Steward Highlanders Pipe Band. The service begins at 1 p.m. and Command Sergeant Major Michael J. Lacuesta will provide the keynote. The event will also feature an Avenue of Flags ceremony, a reading of the Gettysburg Address, a fly-over by the Huey Vets, and a ceremonial dove release.
