Merchants of Reality in collaboration with k̄nautwerk invites you to MEDICINE SHIP this Friday, July 15th to an evening of western folk music, aerial arts, live projected visuals, and specialty elixirs. MEDICINE SHIP features frontier folk music pioneers Intuitive Compass, the stunning instrumentalism of Oddjob Ensemble, the projection mapping work of Daniel Anderson (k̄nautwerk), and live aerial performance by Aurelia Cohen (Carpetbag Brigade / Flam Chen). Healing Arts Herbs, Teas, and Tinctures will provide specialty, handcrafted elixirs that will be sure to loosen your dancing feet and clarify your mind. Other beverages will be available.

Event continues until midnight. You will witness live-projected visuals cast on an aerialist, experience powerful and delicious melodies that will twist the ear into a musical pretzel, and browse the fine art currently available on the walls of Merchants of Reality’s running show OBSTACLE, curated by resident artists Joshua Nissen King and Jessy Gaumann. Witness the interactive, wearable-sensor-driven projection mapping work of Daniel Anderson, who conducts visuals with his body. MEDICINE SHIP promises to be a night that will delight your soul, engage your mind, and move your dancing feet.

FEATURED PERFORMERS:
INTUITIVE COMPASS
Revolutionizing the model of the bohemian lifestyle, following their Intuitive Compasses, the group is a family FOLK show all its own, from a one man band to a Vaudeville Medicine Show, often including Fire, Aerial Acrobatics, with a splash of the Old West... Dedicating their lives to the traditions carried on by the living troubadours of today, their show is a bit like time travel.

ODDJOB ENSEMBLE
Oddjob Ensemble is Kalei Yamanoha's strange and wonderful brainchild, a consortium of multi-instrumentalists and specialists based in the San Francisco Bay Area. With powerful ancient melodies and sounds that twist the ear into a delicious musical pretzel, they touch upon many different cultural influences and find unusual but fascinating combinations of traditional styles, jazz, and progressive music. Largely instrumental, an evening with the Oddjob Ensemble is a showcase of stunning musicianship, exotic tonalities and of course shenanigans.

KNAUTWERK / BLONDKNAUT
Daniel Anderson is a projection mapping wizard that conducts his self-created visual art installations with wearable sensors. He has performed for Karsh Kale, Kaminanda, and installed cathedral-sized projections in the heart of San Francisco. Combining dance and technology into a live performance, Anderson's visual art installations must be experienced to be believed.

AURELIA COHEN
Aurelia Cohen, one part of Intuitive Compass, has performed with stiltwalking troupe Carpetbag Brigade Physical Theater, performed aerial acts over the heads of onlookers with Flam Chen, and more. Her unique aerial perfomances give yield to a special energy that leaves any audience electrified and awed.

HEALING ARTS
The collaborative work of Mama Bruja Karen Trejo, Joey Peters, and David DiAntonia, Healing Arts offers tea, tinctures, herbal remedies, and specialty elixirs that will clarify your mind and purify your body.
