Opening Reception: Friday, April 12, 2013 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Exhibition Dates: April 12- May 4, 2013
Gallery hours: Saturdays 12:00 - 2:00pm, or by appointment
The Lab is pleased to present the work of Maggie Haas as artist-in-residence. Working primarily with drawing, sculpture, and installation, Haas investigates the lives of unfinished and discarded objects, with a particular interest in construction materials. During her residency, Haas will draw on the materials available at The Lab. Creating work both from and in the gallery, Haas will create ever-shifting structures which explore what it means to make an impermanent object and use the gallery both as context and content.
A selection of Haas's two-dimensional work will also be on display. Hovering between blueprint drawing and abstraction, her drawings of imagined structures and patterns explore the materiality paper and ink.
Haas received her MFA from the California College of the Arts in 2010.
