With critics raving about their new album Something Real, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real are taking their music to the people over the coming months, with a few very notable names worked in along the way. Led by the “groove-laden” (Rolling Stone) title track first single, Something Real delivers a “melting pot of influences that come into play on any given song,” according to All Music. “That knack for variety serves them well and suggests that there just might be something to that ‘cowboy hippie surf rock’ claim.”
Almost 40 dates are already on the books through mid-summer, including two runs as Neil Young + Promise of the Real, the latter being a lengthy trek through Europe. The band also headlines their own dates throughout the U.S. in support of Something Real. Wedged into the schedule is Lukas’ acoustic date with fellow second-generation music maker Shooter Jennings and, with the full band, a trip to New York for a May 3 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

Anthony LoGerfo, Corey McCormick and Tato Melgar are the core of Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, with Lukas’ brother Micah Nelson serving as a guest and honorary member. Micah was part of the recording of Something Real and often joins on the road when not fronting his own band Insects Vs. Robots. That band, incidentally, are opening the bulk of the May LN&POTR dates.
