Multiple Grammy-nominated composer and vocalist Luciana Souza doesn’t just make jazz, she redefines it. In her music lush vocals, penetrating bass lines and driving rhythms fuse in a cyclone of style and sound. Souza devotes the first half of this evening to her own intimate settings for voice and piano, of poems by the great Chilean Pablo Neruda.
In the second half Souza changes direction toward her native Brazil, with her inimitable interpretation of the “New Bossa Nova.”
