The San Francisco Chronicle’s SFGate is celebrating its 20th anniversary and is throwing an all-day city-wide celebration of San Francisco to celebrate. Mayor Ed Lee has officially proclaimed November 5, 2014 as LoveLocalSF Day – a day for the people of San Francisco to celebrate their love for the city and all the things that make it unique.
SFGate will send a double-decker bus with a San Francisco-themed show roving the City throughout the day. The performances will be emblematic of San Francisco's diverse communities, eclectic history, trendsetting nature and commitment to innovation. Bay Area residents and visitors alike are invited to show their San Francisco pride through various events, music, special promotions, parties taking place throughout the city, and by wearing red.
Thus far, 826 Valencia, the Contemporary Jewish Museum, Coqueta, Golden Gate Moms Group, M.Y. China, Muttville, San Francisco Ballet, SF Food Bank, Sports Basement, State Bird Provisions, Union Square Ice Rink and many other local businesses and organizations have already signed on to participate.
