Women’s Audio Mission (WAM), a nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of women in music production and the recording arts, is pleased to present the August installment of Local Sirens: Women in Music Series, a free, quarterly performance series that features new and innovative work by Bay Area women composers and musicians. The performance will feature Bay Area artists Madeline Kenney and Carly Bond. Prior to the show, there will be open mic performances by WAM members from 7:30-8:00 pm.
Madeline Kenney - Madeline is an Oakland-dwelling Seattle transplant, who makes twang-hazy dream pop. It's like if Loretta Lynn had a secret shoegaze project and an obsession with a looper pedal.
Carly Bond - Carly is the lead vocalist in Oakland's Meernaa. Meernaa is an Oakland power trio consisting of the space between the stars also known as "Dark Matter."
The Local Sirens Series is supported in part by The California Arts Council, The Phyllis C. Wattis Foundation and The Zellerbach Family Foundation.
