Best know for hurling phat wax at turntables and dropping serious basslines over unsuspecting crowds, this “Santa Cruz skater kid” has come a long way from sneaking in mix-tapes at “kegger’s back in high school”, to slayin’ wax at underground warehouses, to opening for “String Cheese Incident”.
A true mix-style dj on the Santa Cruz scene since Jose’s Cantina in ’91, Dave Marquez aka “Dj Dfunkt” gained notoriety with a five year residency at the Blue Lagoon Club producing popular parties “Pitch Control” and “House for Rent”.
