For the first time, Litquake's annual Barbary Coast Award is plural. With so many deserving individuals and organizations warranting public acclaim, how could we choose just one? This year's Literary Legend honorees are Maxine Hong Kingston (Woman Warrior) and SF poet laureate Alejandro Murguia. Other recipients are Thomas Sanchez (California Classics, Rabbit Boss), Jewelle Gomez (Castro Vanguard Award), KQED's Michael Krasny (Kathi Kamen Goldmark Award for community impact), The Threepenny Review (Literary Publication), The Bancroft Library (Literary Institution), Paul Yamazaki (Bookstore Hero), and the late poet Justin Chin (In Memoriam). Hosted by Will Durst with special guest presenters.
