LI XI
"Carriages" is the lead single off of Li Xi's forthcoming debut album, Meet Me Somewhere. Led by Maryann Tran and James Vernon, the San Francisco group messes around with vintage instruments to produce something that sounds decidedly old-school but also incredibly dynamic. The song is buoyantly carried along by a head-bopping, toe-tapping beat and Tran’s vocals...The song sounds like those early dawn hours on the beach, when the sun first starts to peek through the clouds and is refracted and chopped up among the waves. It's an insanely catchy track, dreamy but grounded. - Stereogum

LITTLE SISTER
Flurries of happy rainbow queerness and catholic school despair.
"Little Sister are an East Bay-based trio that pull from classic soul, garage rock and late '70s post-punk. That may sound like an odd combination to you, because it is. But it works ---in no small part thanks to Little Sister's lead singer, who is a force to be reckoned with. She has the piercing ferocity of Siouxie Sioux and the incredible vulnerability of Patti Smith. The band pounds away behind her, twisting and turning along with her every move and intonation, accenting all the words she spits out. It's an emotional roller coaster ride, but a fun one."

WIZARD APPRENTICE
Wizard Apprentice is a shapeshifting benevolent demon who uses sound to creep into the interior worlds of others. Although her long broad nose might suggest wizard heritage, she is not actually a wizard. Rather, she’s a student of many generous wizard friends whose wisdom help her navigate (and tolerate) life as human. Her music is influenced by smooth jazz and super NES game soundtracks. Her sun sign is Aquarius/Pisces which might explain the simulatenously detached and deeply intimate quality of her songs. You can tell she’s a demon because her hands look older than they should. Next time you see her, sneak a look at her hands.
