Left Bank Brasserie on Santana Row in San Jose will host a Fête Alsacienne beginning on Monday, January 13 and continuing through Friday, January 17. The highlight of this celebration of the food and wine of the French region of Alsace will be Alsace inspired a la carte menu specials. The brasserie will also offer a choice of three Alsace appellation wines in a flight of two ounce pours for $14.00 (also served by the bottle, carafe or glass, details to follow). All regular a la carte lunch and dinner selections will be available.
The spirit underlying this celebration is born of Alsatian heritage which is infused with both French and German influences and a cuisine distinguished by hearty dishes, distinctive wines and plentiful beers.
The a la carte specials will be Flammekueche ($14.50), a thin Alsacienne tart, sautéed bacon and onion, and crème fraîche; La Choucroute Garnie ($27.50), sauerkraut, knackwurst sausage, smoked pork loin, and pork belly; and Tarte aux Quetsches ($8.00), brown butter plum tart, allspice crème Chantilly, and red wine syrup.
