Left Bank Brasserie in Menlo Park to Host a Filipino Franco Dinner
Left Bank Brasserie in Menlo Park will host a Filipino Franco dinner on Thursday, July 24 beginning 5:30 p.m. with open seating continuing until 10:00 p.m. The $45.00 prix fixe meal with three courses will be served family style with all dishes except dessert brought to the table at once. The price excludes tax, gratuity and alcoholic beverages. The restaurant's regular menu will also be available that evening. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (650) 473-6543 or emailing to [email protected].
The restaurant's Chef, Brendy Monsada, has created a menu designed to showcase and celebrate his ethnic heritage. Appetizers will include Pork BBQ (pineapple juice marinated pork belly and pork tenderloin, sweet chili sauce, pickled papaya salad); Adobong Manok (chicken drummet casserole cooked in soy sauce, sugar cane vinegar, garlic, onions); and Pancit Canton (traditional stir fried noodles, snow peas, soy kalamansi, carrots, celery, green onions). The entrées will be Beef Kalderata (slow braised beef short ribs, chef’s special kalderata spice mix, sweet peas, red pearl onions, bell peppers, pineapple, savory tomato and peanut sauce); Pritong Lapu-Lapu (deep fried grouper, heirloom tomato salsa, ginger, cilantro, sweet soy and sugar cane vinaigrette dipping sauce; and Pork Sinigang (tamarind spiced braised pork in consommé, taro root, Asian long beans, okra, daikon radish, baby bok choy). For dessert, diners can enjoy Nilatikan (baked sweet rice, caramelized coconut sauce, roasted coconut flakes, latik) and Halo-Halo (mixed sweetened fruits and vegetables, crushed ice, colored pearls, purple ube yam and buko salad ice cream).
Non-alcoholic kalamansi juice and pineapple juice will also be included with the dinner.
