Left Bank Brasserie in Larkspur to Host Beaujolais Nouveau Celebration
Left Bank Brasserie in Larkspur will be celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau, the “first wine” of the harvest season, on Thursday, November 19, featuring Georges Dubœuf, Beaujolais-Villages, Nouveau, 2015 ($9.00 per glass, $27.00 per carafe, $36.00 per bottle) and offer festive lunch and dinner menu additions chosen to pair well with the wine. There will also be a complimentary tasting of this wine from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and with every bottle purchased during lunch and dinner service, guest will receive a Chef's Amuse.
The menu additions, available at lunch and dinner, will be a Morteau Salad ($13.50) with warm housemade smoked garlic sausage, fingerling potato salad and an herb vinaigrette; Bœuf and Beaujolais ($26.00), 24 hour Beaujolais marinated beef short rib with aromatic vegetables, bacon, pearl onions and mushrooms; and Mulled Beaujolais Poached Bosc Pear ($9.00) with an almond financier.
Beaujolais Nouveau is a traditional French holiday that celebrates the release of the Beaujolais Nouveau wine. Made from the Gamay grape, this wine is similar to a light bodied Pinot Noir and has fresh, youthful, and fruity flavors that pair perfectly with autumn dishes. By law, it is celebrated on the third Thursday of November every year.
