Hailed by Rolling Stone as the year's "best new band" upon the 2014 release of album Bad Self Portraits, Lake Street Dive have made a big impression with their creative brand of soul pop. Anchored by the honey-toned vocals of conservatory-trained frontwoman Rachel Price, the band's breezy, indie-inflected tunes are nothing if not confident, reflecting the training and virtuoso musicianship of the band's talented members. Lake Street Dive impressed the pants off of Ellen Degeneres performing live on her show in 2014, building excitement among fans for their upcoming tour dates.

Formed in 2004 by a group of students at Boston's New England Conservatory of Music, Lake Street Dive started out as a country act before settling on the jazz-inspired soul pop they're known for today. They self-released their 2006 debut album In This Episode... with the winnings they took home from the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, self-releasing sophomore album Promises, Promises the following year. In 2010, they signed with Signature Sounds Recordings for their self-titled third album, a strong collection of songs that hinted at the heaps of praise their sixth album Bad Self Portraits would receive upon its early-2014 release.
