House of Many Rooms, the new release from Laila Biali & The Radiance Project, is about the living spaces we construct inside our own hearts and minds. We form and store dreams and memories of the people who have touched us – lovers, friends, family, even strangers – and place them inside these partitioned rooms, where their stories are transformed as we ourselves evolve and change. Biali wrote, produced and arranged the album for a gospel choir, string orchestra, and a 6-piece horn section, and features an all-star cast of collaborators including Grammy Award-winner, Lisa Fischer (20 Feet from Stardom, The Rolling Stones, Luther Vandross), Jo Lawry (20 Feet from Stardom, Sting, Paul Simon), Alan Hampton (Andrew Bird, Sufjan Stevens, Robert Glasper) and the Toronto Mass Choir. Prior to this album, Biali released three critically-acclaimed jazz influenced albums, won numerous awards in Canada, was nominated for a JUNO Award (Canadian GRAMMYS), toured with the likes of Chris Botti, Paula Cole, Suzanne Vega, and both recorded and toured with the one-and-only Sting.
