We will be staging a mass Tai Chi demonstration with hundreds of participants simultaneously doing one of the most popular forms of Tai Chi, the 24 Tai Chi Routine. More schools have already signed up than last year and we are estimating that there might be over 400 participants for the opening ceremony.
There are 3 free workshops scheduled: 1. Professor Wang Peikun (China): 9 duan holder (highest rank in China) from Shanghai Sports University and the creator of the Southern Sword routine used in Modern Wushu (an aspiring Olympic event). 2. Master Yang Jun: 5th generation lineage holder of Yang Tai Chi Chuan, the most popular style of Tai Chi in the world. 3. Master Gao Jiamin: World Tai Chi Champion, dubbed the ‘Queen of Tai Chi’. There will be ongoing Taiji performances and friendly push-hands practice on the park lawn while Kung Fu demonstrations take place on the main stage.
