Barefoot Chamber Concerts presents Hallifax & Jeffrey (Peter Hallifax and Julie Jeffrey, viols) with Andrew Canepa (organ) in "King Charles' Delight" a program of English music from the early 17th century English court.
King Charles I loved and played the viol, hiring England's best viol players to play with. This program brings together the music of two of the most inventive of these legendary court viol player/composers: John Coperario and William Lawes, with duo divisions by Christopher Simpson, who, a generation later, became the most revered viol player of the 17th century. There will be snacks.
