Keller Williams, long renowned for his musical gifts, has also demonstrated with tremendous generosity and care how his music can benefit the community. In 2008, Keller released Rex – Live at The Fillmore as a benefit album for the Rex Foundation. This compilation came from the February 8, 2006 performance Keller Williams brought to the stage at Denver’s Fillmore with his project called Grateful Grass. Grateful Grass – which featured Keller, Keith Moseley (The String Cheese Incident), and Jeff Austin (Yonder Mountain String Band) – presented not-so-traditional bluegrass versions of Grateful Dead favorites. The album recaptures the vibe in the packed house that was thick and sweet; where the crowd was whisper quiet, when they weren’t singing along. In February 2013, Keller released KEYS, his second benefit album for Rex, featuring his piano renditions of favorite Grateful Dead songs. On December 7th, Keller will reprise the Grateful Grass project, joined by Keith Moseley, Michael Kang and Jeff Austin, as well as perform numerous Grateful Dead favorites. Opening the evening with acoustic versions of Grateful Dead favorites and more, will be Nicki Bluhm, of Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers, and Tim Bluhm of the Mother Hips. Additional special guests are likely to join Keller throughout the evening. With Nightfall of Diamonds, we look forward to an exceptional night of music, honoring Keller’s talents and generosity, and celebrating the work of the Rex Foundation.Set up in festive cabaret style with reserved seating on the floor, The Fillmore, with its beauty and iconic connection to the Grateful Dead, sets the stage for this special occasion. At the pre-concert reception, enjoy hearty finger foods and beverages as you reconnect with friends and family. Your generous reception/concert ticket purchase of $250, $500, or $1,000, of which all but $100 is a charitable contribution, will fund Rex Foundation grant making. Join us on December 7th as we come together to celebrate the music and the spirit of our community.
