102.1 KDFC takes classical music out of the concert hall and into the clubs a bold new setting: Yoshi’s San Francisco with an November 19 show with La Pieta, the 12-piece, all-female orchestra fronted by violinist Angele Dubeau.

The intimate, unexpected venue is the perfect setting for the band that sizzled on it’s hit CD and PBS special ‘Infernal Violins’ and got downright sultry on its recent release, ‘Passion.’

It’s world-class classical with a contemporary twist, hosted by all the KDFC On-Air Personalities. Tickets are $45, adults only. The cabaret seating (not to mention the cocktail service) breaks the mold for a classical concert. “We throw a concert,” says KDFC’s Hoyt Smith, “and a party breaks out.”

An accomplished soloist known for unique arrangements of classical masterworks and sophisticated interpretations of modern pieces, Angele Dubeau put together the 12-piece ensemble La Pieta in 1997.
