‘Hailing from Matlock in Derbyshire, 19 year old Sam Knowles AKA Karma Kid has been producing under this moniker for the best part of 3 years and DJing around the UK and Europe for two thirds of that time. His soul/hip-hop inspired house/garage-productions have brought him amongst his peers Bondax and Disclosure; supporting each at their shows and through association has developed collaborations with artists such as Friend Within and Star Slinger.
People are now sitting up and taking notice of this talented 19 year old – and he has capitalised on this by positioning himself in the studio during his free time with some of the most exciting pop-stars of tomorrow. Writing with MNEK, Becky Hill, Kate Stewart and Ryan Ashley amongst others has come naturally and the results so far have been fresh and invigorating pieces of futuristic Soul and RnB. His maturity and taste with his productions has already changed somewhat across his fledgling career, yet the same confident energy is apparent throughout. Now with his own Jai Paulesque vocals taking pride of place with his last EP on Roche Musique in Paris, expect another dynamic and melody-fuelled set of work for his forthcoming release on Australia’s Future Classic label late this summer.’
