Wednesday Oct 22 is the Karaoke Contest Finale. Legend has it a midnight cowboy stumbled across a ravenous horde of Amazon women in Axel Rose's jungle and nine months later DJ Uncle Hank was begat. The rock Viking and frontman of SuperBad—perhaps the only local band that features go-go-dancers like sex tambourines—has also been a staple of the South Bay karaoke circuit for years. On Wednesday, our favorite weird uncle goes behind the wheels of steel for the grand finale of Almaden Brit's annual Karaoke Contest. Generally these competitions end with the best (worst?) riff of Adele's “Rolling in the Deep,†but expect performances to go beyond the pale. First place receives $500. (Josh Koehn)
