If your idea of a sporting prize is something that can be mounted or cooked, you might want to head down to Kaplan's Surplus and Sporting Goods, serving your hunting and fishing needs since 1939. Tucked in amongst rows of Army surplus goods-camouflage, flight jackets, peacoats, wool blankets-you'll find rods and reels, bright orange jackets and wool ear-flap caps. While the prices aren't super-cheap, Kaplan's remains a choice independent spot for hearty, lumberjack-style gear.
