Description
Kala’s Fellowship program includes a series of artists’ talks by our current Fellows. Each of our Fellowship artists gives a presentation of their work and discusses their current residency projects at Kala.

Yasuaki Onishi's work generally presented in virtual darkness, his installation works consist of tiny colored lights assembled into a sequence of grids that define an ambiguous physical space. The light grids serve as abstract clues that lead our attention to invisible elements such as empty space, air, and gravity.

Ali Richards works in a photo-documentary format to comment on our social and physical interaction with the environment. Her photographic projects produced in a variety of topical series ranging from hunting in the Arctic Circle to the transformation of a landscape through the atrophy of modern life.

Their up-coming Fellowship exhibition, Residency Projects II, scheduled to open at the Kala Gallery on August 27.
