A writer, director and performer, Michael Showalter first came to prominence as a member of the MTV cult classic sketch show The State. Along with fellow State-ers David Wain and Michael Ian Black, he performs in Stella, which had a critically-acclaimed run on Comedy Central. He co-wrote and co-produced the hit indie comedy Wet Hot American Summer, and made his directorial debut with IFC film’s The Baxter, which he also wrote and starred in.
