This performance will open with a lecture by Rotary Scholar Danny Catt, a wildlife ecologist, educator at British Columbia Institute of Technology, and photographer with a passion for world travel and nature conservation. Danny travels around the world, speaking on ecology and sustainability, and has had his photos featured in such publications as Canadian Geographic, Chinese Geographic, Maclean's, and Time.
Following a short intermission, Jim Curry and his band will perform the music of legendary music icon, John Denver. Considered to be one of the most beloved singer/songwriters of all time, John Denver was a prolific songwriter throughout his all-too-short life, having written over 200 songs. Jim Curry is one of the most lauded of tribute artists working today, and his voice can be heard in the CBS-TV movie Take Me Home: The John Denver Story. He is renowned for his ability to mirror John Denver's voice and clean-cut look, which is especially evident when performing such classic songs as "Rocky Mountain High", "Sunshine", "Calypso" and "Annie's Song."
