Crazy Heart wasn't Jeff Bridges first foray into country music, though its success did bring his talents to a lot more people's attention, plus it gave him the confidence to make music a bigger part of his life. In 2011, he recorded his second solo album, which was produced by T-Bone Burnett. It's not strictly a country record. It's more of a mellow roots album in the vein of John Hiatt's Bring the Family. Compared to Bad Blake, the character he portrayed in 2009's Crazy Heart, Bridges music is little softer and more subdued, though in all truth, it's not that different. It wouldn't be surprising if he threw in a couple of Blake's songs in his set. (Aaron Carnes)
