Description
The Maids by Jean Genet is an exploration into the desolate minds of two maids, Solange and Claire, who both love and hate their Mistress. When their mistress is away the maids act out their fantasy of revenge on their mistress. Their game is deadly and captivating. With its detours and mystifications the play charts their descent into insanity, corruption and ultimately murder. As powerful today as it was when first staged, personal and social agendas clash with tragic consequences.
